Abuja came alive last Saturday at the JamRock festival which took place at the Sirius Palmetum Botanical Garden, Maitama, Abuja. It was the one year anniversary of JamRock and it was lit!!! The place was beautifully arranged against the backdrop of nature, the streamline along the entrance and the pristine trees around.
It was just the perfect weather for the celebration. The likes of Nkataa, representatives of Nippon Grand Hotel, Traffic, Legend to mention a few were on ground. The lighting was glittery with the Disk Jockey’s feeding the audience with good music. Superstar Dj Kenny was in the house, Dj Romiesam was also present and between those two the right type of music seived through the air, it was almost magical.
The party was set to kick off at 3pm but, didn’t until much later owing to the fact that there were weddings to attend and of course the Nigerian “African Time” factor. There were tables reserved for people, table for tow, table for six and the bamboo sitting spot. At about 7pm, the turn up for the event had improved and at 9:30pm there was no vacant seats.
Cocktails were served from the bar and there was plenty of Shisha to go round, just as I had said there would be. JamRock fest definitely rocked my weekend. The party was off the hook with surprise performances from artists!!! I couldn’t have chosen any where else to be that Saturday.
At about 10pm, the atmosphere was pumped with so much energy, and people danced the night away under the moonlight. No one wanted the party to stop and the awesome Master of Ceremony ensured the people were carried along.
If you missed out of this event, fret not! Another is around the corner. Get ready to Jam your Rock. In the meantime, feast your eyes on some pictures below.
