Have you ever had to walk around in uncomfortable shoes?
First off, the sheer discomfort and frustration is indescribable. Another thing are the annoying blisters that follow. (The worst!)
While serving in Calabar, one of my favorite things to do was walk. Having such agreeable weather and all round relaxing ambience had me turning evening walks to a full on cross city trek.
However, I always made sure I had the right pair of shoes on.
At the time they were just shoes from random brands. Some of them probably thrifted, some on the other hand, ‘nunus’.
Regrettably, although they might have been the comfiest yet, they weren’t as durable.
So of course finding these Nigerian brands, years later that suited everything I was looking for then was a massive win. Most especially now that my ‘Dora the Explorer” game is on
Below are my 3 favorite Nigerian bands that ease my new age nomadic life.
Shoes for the Urban Nomad
First up on the list is the brand that made my 2 favorite pairs of combat boot.
Moose Leather Works Nig.
As an Urban Nomad that’s kind of an essential; a sturdy pair of boots.
And for me, I opted for this all Nigerian brand to make me the perfect pair of bespoke boots. Perfect because they go great with any style, are comfortable and the soles have a great grip for tough terrains.
I have had mine for almost two years and they’re always a hit every time I wear ’em.
Marco Scarpa Ng
Marco Scarpa, I like to think, was created for my feet in particular.
In fact, I’m confident to say it’s the first time I’ve had sandals that fit perfectly and are as comfortable.
I’ve made reference to the brand twice in previous posts to show just how great they are. They are the perfect ‘out and about’ pairs I’ve ever owned.
Collector or obsession I’m not sure just yet but order a pair and let’s see if you don’t end up wanting more like me.
I actually still remember the pair of sandals that caught my eye on the Lucy Dave’s Instagram page.
I was truly pleasing to find that not only were they aesthetically satisfying, they fit just right and were equally comfy!
These three Nigerian based brands are definitely some I’d recommend for the modern day tourist or “Urban Nomad”. They are pocket friendly and worth every kobo when you finally get ’em.
You can give them a call and start ordering away while we set up up those travel plans for you , yeah?
